My favorite holliday movie, for some reason in Poland they always showed it in the Easter or somewhere around Christmas before Police Academy part X etc. and despite it's flaws it made a profound impact on me as a child, there was nothing quite like that on tv. The Spice = DMT lol.

I very much like the cult film. one has to get used to it, but its full of great performances by actors and film makers. Thats also why its become a cult. Don`t know the meaning of Paul fucked him up! etc. etc. I always saw an even fight here. Considering fighting skills Paul could have lost here as well. Many times i watched this vid. And now its like a ikd friend, it puts me to sleep and the dreams i get are colorful an inspiring.

I recently read one of this site's trivia postings for this movie, saying that in the extended version, screenwriter Judas Booth's name is not real, but a combination of Judas Iscariot and John Wilkes Booth because David Lynch (in my opinion, one of *the* worst directors in the world) thought they had "betrayed him and killed the movie." Lynch, step off of it! You betrayed Frank Herbert and killed the book! For what it was, the movie sucked (for everything it was not, it wasn't bad) and the extended TV version is so much better. Is that because it doesn't have Lynch's name on it? Why couldn't all of those things from the extended version make the theatrical cut? That could have salvaged this movie from Hollywood hell- also known as "obscurity" and "poor box office returns...

Of COURSE Patrick Stewart had never heard of Sting! He was locked in a Yorkshire cellar for 35 years!😆. I hope Patrick got to listen to Message in a Bottle. Hmmm I might just start reading Dune now... Create your own movie list. I guess my recollection from when it came out and I first saw parts of it but never the whole thing made me eager to eventually sit through it after purchase and see if what I remembered and enjoyed was through the whole movie. Alas I didn't even get to the end, the wooden acting and confusing synopsis just fell flat. Technically I did mute my criticism of any special effects and made sure I made no comparisons to todays near perfect computer and FX driven productions. So looking at it as if it was not over 20 years old allowed me to just concentrate on the plot and movement of the movie towards a finale. As I say I didn't get through it, just not my cup of tea.

Duin epr. My favorite book of all with one of my favorite directors (Arrival, Sicario. Was thoroughly disappointed with the Lynch version, after waiting 12 years in anticipation of the book being a film. Getting my hopes up 45 years later. I always loved the themes of ancestral memory in Dune. I love that the Earth has become only an ancestral memory after cataclysm pushed Humanity across the depths of space. Change title! Waste of my eye ball time. I read Frank Herbert's fist 3 books years ago and loved them! I hope the film adaptation adheres well with the books! Can't wait to see the film.

I have finally started to read Heretics of Dune after about twenty years since I first tried to read it. I loved God Emperor so much I think my expectations were way too high. Anyways, I got over the hump and recall just reading the words you used about sage just a few days ago. The fact that this trailer is monetized, suddenly makes this less charming. This film is a cult classic. When I was young my brother borrowed 2 vhs casets ( im not sure how to write it properly) and it was 7 hours Dune, it was copy of dune 1984. This is the best thing that I watched in since. Duin scrabble. Duinse polders. Duin en kruidberg. The good guys are based on the Prussian model. Militaristic, disciplined, clean living, even spartan. The bad guys here are one sloppy mess. Duinrell campsite. Dyin breed. Dunipace.
